Yes, yes, this is part of her backstory-
"Is this right, Featherdawn?" A young, silver-cream she-cat mewed as she was bent awkwardly in a crouch. A silver tabby she-cat purred, smiling, "Not quite, Birdpaw. It was a very nice try for your first time."
An awkward, toothy smile found it's way onto young Birdpaw's features, "R-Really?"
Featherdawn giggled at her apprentice's awkwardness, "Yes.. Now, tuck in them hind quarters."
Birdpaw shifted her back legs closer to her body, "Like this?"
"Yes, Birdpaw! You're doing amazing!" Featherdawn smiled. Birdpaw beamed, feeling so proud of herself. She had come to Shatteredclan after she had found a young tom-kit named Crimsonkit.. To say the least, she had a minor crush on the russet tom-cat. He was an apprentice, like her, though much more used to the clan. His name was Crimsonpaw now, and her name was Birdpaw. She was very happy with her new home, and turns out.. Water wasn't all that bad! She didn't particularly like it, as she wasn't a strong swimmer. But, Crimsonpaw was! He said he would give her lessons sometime.
"Birdpaw! Focus, hun," Featherdawn interrupted the younger she-cat's daydreaming.
Birdpaw squeaked, "Yes, Featherdawn! I'm sorry, Featherdawn!"
Featherdawn laughed sweetly, "Just pay attention and quit drooling over Crimsonpaw."
Birdpaw squeaked again, "Y-Y-You know about t-th-that!?"
"Of course I do. It's my job to watch you," the silver tabby winked.
Birdpaw immediately felt flustered, "Featherdawn...!" Her mentor only laughed again. The two she-cats continued training, Featherdawn giving the young silver-cream she-cat pointers. By the end of the session, Birdpaw was almost a pro at her Hunter's crouch.
With the sun set low behind them, the mentor and apprentice padded back to the clan's camp. Birdpaw was smiling happily. It wasn't too bad as her first time outside of the camp with Featherdawn.
The mentioned Silver tabby hummed, "Go get yourself a piece of fresh kill and rest well, Birdpaw. You deserve it for your first day."
Birdpaw nodded, "Thank you, Featherdawn!" The ticked tabby she-cat bounced away from her mentor to the fresh-kill pile. There, she dug out her favorite prey: sparrow. With it in her jaws, she padded to a near by rock and settled down. She felt so happy! She carefully picked off the bird's feathers, getting to the flesh underneath. She bit into it, pulling off the sweet tasting skin and muscle. She swished her tail in happiness as she watched her clanmates go about their evening. Most were settling down for sharing tongues, others were going on the Dusk patrol. She smiled, continuing to eat the sparrow.
"Birdpaw! Birdpaw, get up!" Featherdawn's panicked voice woke Birdpaw up from her mesmerizing dream.
The silver-cream she-cat sat up, "Yeah..?"
"Birdpaw, get up! You need to get out of here!" Featherdawn urged her apprentice up.
Birdpaw squeaked when she was raised to her feet, "Why?"
"There's a fire! You need to go!" Featherdawn hissed slightly.
Birdpaw tensed, "F-Fire? In camp?"
"Yes, now move your arse!" Featherdawn snapped at her. Birdpaw yelped, bolting out of the apprentice's den, Featherdawn following. As soon as she stepped outside the den, she felt the blast of heat. At the sudden warmth, Birdpaw's breathing hitched.
Featherdawn shoved her, "Move, Birdpaw!" Birdpaw stumbled, but bolted forward, veering away from the fire. Her gaze was caught by a few cats on fire. It seemed... the fire had gotten the Nursery first. Those poor Queens and Kits!
A sudden yowl rang out, both fleeing she-cats skidding to a halt. Featherdawn looked back, gaze landing unto a small she-cat, who was plump with kits. Birdpaw's features turned into horror as her mentor rushed back to help.
Featherdawn shouted to Birdpaw, "Go, Birdpaw! I'll be right behind you, I promise!" Birdpaw flattened her ears and turned back. She bolted for the clan entrance, barely escaping as the thistles as they crashed down with bright flames.
She skidded to a halt a few fox-lengths away, "Featherdawn!"
"I'm fine! Go to the river, Birdpaw!" Featherdawn's voice called back.
Birdpaw flattened her ears more, "But!"
"Go, Birdpaw!" Featherdawn's voice was unusually stern. Birdpaw, at her mentor's voice, fled to where only a few of her clanmates were.
Once she was at the river, Birdpaw turned. Her eyes were lit with the light of the flames, the high flames dancing. She heard the yowls of pain and could smell the burning flesh from there. Her immediate thoughts were,
Featherdawn isn't going to make it.
-----------------------Now(As crack/didn't really happen)-----------------------
Birdripple's face was complete terror as she watched the flames grasp the camp. Not again, not again..! She was frozen on the spot. She was tense, eye big and round and tear filled as she watched from the warrior's den. How many were going to die this time?
