Thunder clashed, and acidic rain started pooring down on the collapsed city of [City]. The rain would never reach the ground, as it would evaporate before it could. On the ground, deadly and burning gas lingered. The decaying city was infused with it, the still standing buildings that had high levels, unaffected. Despite the burning gas, reanimated corpses rose and dragged themselves across the debris filled streets, looking for flesh. They wouldn't eat, as they didn't need to. They just wanted to taste blood- fresh, human blood. They left animals alone, most of the time. The corpses were slow, and some were blind. They mostly relied on hearing and scent anyways. Most buildings were over run with the corpses, but others had been secured and were now a safe haven. It would not stay that way for long.
[Name]'s eyes widened as she stared at the note in which her old friend had left with her in her... room. She couldn't tell how old the letter was, nor could she know how long she was in that coma. Her friend had left her a few things as well: a change of clothes, some edible food, a gas mask and an elongated knife. [Name] felt a bit woozy. It was a lot to take in, just coming out of a coma.. Wait, why had she been in a coma in the first place?
It came rushing back to her, head pounding from the sudden rush of memories. Driving... Semi-truck... Loud crash... Smoking engine... Bright flashing lights... A sound of an ambulance and then... nothing. She remembered nothing from that point. Except for waking up. She remembered everything before the accident, but nothing after until now. [Name] inhaled deeply, trying to calm herself down and rid herself of the headache. She had an objective to complete... A friend to meet... and groups to avoid. Not to mention the corpses... Many questions burned through her mind.
Was her friend immune to the gas's affects?
Was Kyrin okay?
How long was she asleep?
Would she meet the groups mentioned?
How long would Daylight last?
And most importantly...
