The Medicine Cat Apprentice Auditions are now open!
If you would like to be RainClan's Medicine Cat Apprentice, please answer the following questions:
_______________
1) Character name and short description.
2) On a scale of one to ten, how literate are you?
3) On a scale of one to ten, how active are you?
4) Are you planning for your character to have any forbidden relationships?
5) Why do you want to be Medicine Cat Apprentice?
6) What qualities would make your cat a good Medicine Cat Apprentice?
7) Does your character have any disabilities that may affect its' role?
8) What is your character's natural behaviour? Also, when it is stressed, will it act drastically?
9) Any other information I should know about your character?
10) Write a roleplay sample of your cat during this:
The clan has had a very harsh leaf-bare. Torrential rain and storms have made it impossible for herbs to grow, leaving the Medicine Cat's stock rather low. Five warriors, two kits, an elder and three apprentices have greencough. The elder that has greencough is very close to death, possibly dying before your mentor has the chance to get back. To make matters worse, the leader has got a very high fever. Your mentor has left the camp in search for undestroyed herbs, leaving you, a new apprentice with barely any knowledge of herbs, in charge of the Medicine den for a while. What will you do? _______________
You can copy and paste this into your reply, and write the answers after the question. Good luck!

1) Character name and short description. My character is called Finchpaw. She is a seal-pointed she-cat with short fur. She has turquoise eyes. She is quite an all-rounder, and she has a knack for mind games. She's always loved listening to stories, and usually likes to make them up, her imagination running wild. She's quite chatty and talkative, always trying to see the bright side of things. She always tries her hardest to entertain the people around her. 2) On a scale of one to ten, how literate are you? Around 7 or 8, I can be very literate when I'm roleplaying but I do sometimes use text speech. 3) On a scale of one to ten, how active are you? 9 or 10 (on the site). I try to get on every day, and I check every chance I get. And now I've got the map sorted so I'll be on everyday! Problem is, I have a camping trip with my family so I won't be on much on FeralHeart. I'm gonna use data on my phone to check the website though! 4) Are you planning for your character to have any forbidden relationships? No. Maybe a slight crush, but nothing serious, Y'know, maybe one or two 'Hmm, that rogues kinda cute…' She'd get over it pretty quickly, though. If she ever does become Rainfall's apprentice, she'll make it one of her top priorities, keeping out of any serious relationships, as she tries her best to impress and following the rules is a big part in that. 5) Why do you want to be Medicine Cat Apprentice? I've always thought that Medicine Cats have a special place in the clan, and they help the clan in a way that not many others will understand. Also, being taught about nature has always appealed to me, even if I lock myself up in my room a lot… (eheh…) 6) What qualities would make your cat a good Medicine Cat Apprentice? She's always eager to learn, she's got a knack for memory, and she's very open-minded so she's ready to receive advice. 7) Does your character have any disabilities that may affect its' role? She's not got any physical disabilities, no. 8) What is your character's natural behaviour? Also, when it is stressed, will it act drastically? She is very chatty, talkative and bubbly, sometimes hard to keep away. She's quite obedient, but she can sometimes loose herself in her imagination. When she's stressed, she'll generally handle it well. Just some time alone will sort it. She's very level headed 9) Any other information I should know about your character? Well, it's not about my character, but it's the fact that I only have two characters. If Finchpaw was to become Med Cat App, then that would mean that I would rp her much more than someone with four characters, since that can be a lot to handle if you want to keep them active. 10) Write a roleplay sample of your cat during this: The clan has had a very harsh leaf-bare. Torrential rain and storms have made it impossible for herbs to grow, leaving the Medicine Cat's stock rather low. Five warriors, two kits, an elder and three apprentices have greencough. To make matters worse, the leader has got a very high fever. Your mentor has left the camp in search for undestroyed herbs, leaving you, a new apprentice with barely any knowledge of herbs, in charge of the Medicine den for a while. What will you do? _______________ Finchpaw's tail flicked, specks of rain spraying on the side of the den. She rose from her perch in the Medicine Den and padded over to the herb store. It was a petty excuse for a herb store, however, as only a few leaves, petals and seeds remained. Rain threatened to trickle through cracks in the large stone roof and through the precious collection of herbs. Wasting no time at all, she gathered as many herbs as possible - all the catmint, borage leaves, chervil and goldenrod she could find, which wasn't much - and found a dry spot in the store for them. Carefully, she set them down, then began to rush around and check on the patients. Rainfall had just given some them their herbs, so all she could do was watch. The only thing she could do at that very moment was just stare at the sick cats, lying helplessly in damp nests. No. She had to tear her eyes away. She had to stop distracting herself and get back to keeping the herbs dry! She twisted around to see the herbs, dry (and small) like she left them. She sighed heavily, relieved. Maybe she could get some moss balls for the kits? After all, they need something to do, right? It made perfect sense. Maybe some sticks, and she could make some statues for them! Yeah, that'd be cool. Or maybe- Stop! You can't do this. she told herself. You have to look after the sick cats and the herbs. No games. _______________ I hope you like my application for Medicine Cat Apprentice, and may the best cat win! 🐱

1) Character name and short description.
Swallowpaw, a cream, fluffy-pelted she-cat with a ginger right ear. Her left ear is a dusty brown, resembling more of a grey. Along with this, the fur around her muzzle and eyes is a light brown. A faint brown line of fur streaks down her back and then follows up onto her tail, which is completely brown. Her legs are grey, with white toes. Her eyes are bright blue, and her nose is pink with a black line down the middle.
2) On a scale of one to ten, how literate are you?
Probably a 7/10. Using at least 2-2 and a half FH posts. (idk how to scale my literacy)
3) On a scale of one to ten, how active are you?
On site, very. I check every hour and I usually stay online for hours on end. so a 10/10 for Site activity. On FH, I stick around online for 30 minutes to see if people come online, and stay for rp when people are, (though these days, nobody seems to be on), I'd say an 8/10 for days I miss.
4) Are you planning for your character to have any forbidden relationships?
Nah.
5) Why do you want to be Medicine Cat Apprentice?
I enjoy the whole "healing others" kind of rank, and medic/shaman/med.cat is something I've always been familiar with, because in a lot of groups, it's not a popular choice to go with, making me have familiarity with the rank and some of the herbs (im not amazing though, i can't remember them all). Also, if you game with me, I'm almost always the medic in the team heh
6) What qualities would make your cat a good Medicine Cat Apprentice?
She's actually quite bossy, which would be good in terms of making the cats take their herbs when they do. She's a keen learner, though she's somewhat slow and can't grasp many things easily, but she'll get there!
7) Does your character have any disabilities that may affect its' role?
None
8) What is your character's natural behaviour? Also, when it is stressed, will it act drastically?
She can be quite snappy, but it's rare as she's a calm cat. She's rather sassy if one gets into an argument, but she regrets anything she says afterwards. She's probably the least likely cat to get jealous too, and is fairly easy to speak to, and loves a 'chat' with other cats, getting on well with queens or elders (apprentices usually go on errands to clean out bedding for queens and elders). When stressed, Swallowpaw will likely pace, it can take her a while to "get it together" again, but it's rare that she does get stressed (see above, calm)
9) Any other information I should know about your character?
Nope

Leafbare was only just over, and the herbs would begin to grow soon. Or at least, Swallowpaw hoped. White paws pattered along the stone floor of the Medicine den, blue eyes flitting over to the ever thinning herb stock. Panic washed over the she-cat, a small mew escaping her maw. Greencough. Greencough. How do I deal with this again? Sweet scented herb, right? StarClan help me! A wail erupted from the cat, and she began to pace. Where's Rainfall- Oh yeah. Looking for herbs. The she-cat sat down. her claws kneading the hard floor. "Okay." She breathed, inhaling slowly, "Stressing isn't getting me anywhere. Stressing isn't getting me anywhere" the cream cat mumbled, before rising back to her paws, walking to the pitiful herb stock. What was it Rainfall taught me... Feverfew for fevers. Makes sense. Okay. That's what I'm looking for. Feverfew... Feverfew... Swallowpaw was lucky she remembered that, if it wasn't for the resemblance in name, she may not have recalled the herb required. "Foxdung!" She cursed, unable to find what she was looking for. Nosing once more through the herbs, she spotted a small mouthful of a plant with purple flowers. She picked it up, her senses flooded with the sweet taste of the herb. I recognise this. Catflower? No no. Catmint. Catmint is used... Is used to cure cats with... Whitecough? Chest infections! She felt herself smile at this accomplishment, and Swallowpaw glanced over at the elder whom lay in the nest at the back of the den, then her gaze flickered over to her leader. I can't split this mouthful. She stressed. Her leader was important but had many lives. But the elder? She knew him. He told her stories as kit and he could die. Could she hold on for Rainfall to return with hopefully more catmint. Unlikely. She had to treat one of the patients. And fast.
-----------
As always, good luck to others whom are auditioning. Sorry, I suck at ending roleplay samples, hence why the ending is p bad hnng
also writers block sorry for rambling lmao
